Wednesday, November 14 7:00 pm at the Haggard Library 2501 Coit Rd, Plano: The Collin County Genealogical Society will host Ms. Lynell Moss, Consultant Training Director of the Family History Center in Plano. Ms. Moss will be speaking on "The FamilySearch Family of Websites". This event is FREE and open to all.

Saturday, November 17 9:30 am - 3:00 pm at the Plano Bible Chapel, 1900 Shiloh Rd, Plano The Genealogy Friends of Plano Libraries will be holding a workshop featuring Lloyd D. Bockstruck. Pitfalls in Research, will help the dedicated researcher wade through court orders and court minutes; birth and death substitute records; and understand the naming quagmire. Something to add to your calendar: the Collin County Genealogical Society will be having their 2013 All-Day Seminar on Saturday, February 16.  The Featured speaker will be Lloyd Bockstruck.  Topics will include: The Colonial Germans, The Scots-Irish in Colonial America, Anglican Church Records for Genealogical Research, and Virginia: Where the British Empire Began.
