Two New Guides

We have two new guides that can be checked out to assist you in your Genealogical work.
The Complete Beginner’s Guide to Genealogy, the Internet, and Your Genealogy Computer Program is an updated edition. This book shows how to combine traditional research methods with today’s technology. This guide is designed for the beginner but is useful for the most seasoned researcher.

The Genealogist’s Guide to Researching Tax Records gives you the techniques to locate, read, and understand the information in these annual records. It explains techniques to research tax records and how to use those techniques in head or poll taxes, real estate, property, federal, and inheritance taxes.

At the last North Collin County Genealogical Society, the speaker, Mr. James Ryan, allowed us to use the forms he has used in his genealogical research. I’ve added two of the forms to our collection of paper forms that are used for research and can be found in the cabinet next to the microfilm. They are his “Perfect Genealogy Chart” and his “Generic Schematic, Clan/Tree Charts”. Both of these charts will be useful for novice and experience researcher.

If you are interested, the North Collin County Genealogical Society meets at the Roy and Helen Hall Memorial Library (downtown McKinney Public Library) on the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
