The Heard Legacy and Upcoming Area Events

We have acquired the book: The Heard Legacy by Cathy Sagnibene Apple.  This book covers generations of this philanthropic family.  It starts with the brothers, John Spencer and Stephen Dudly, and moves through the generations to include Katherine (Katie) Florence Heard Craig and Bessie Rollins Heard.  We have two copies of this book - one of which may be checked out.

Collin County Census

Are you looking for information from the Collin County Census?  We have a microfilm collection of the Federal Census for Collin County from 1850 through 1940.  The only census not included in this collection is from 1890, as this is the year that most of the census records were lost in a fire.  So come visit the Roy and Helen Hall Memorial Library to take advantage of seeing your relatives names and those of their neighbors.

Are You Tracing Your Irish Roots?

If you are searching for your Irish Roots, we have received the 4th edition of Tracing Your Irish Ancestors by John Grenham.  This edition includes detailed guides to Irish online records.  It discusses research strategies, contains information on obtaining information on county-by-county reference lists, census records, church records, occupational records and much more.  This is a reference book, so it can't be checked out.  We have made the third edition available for check out.
